In Puzzle 4, many players just give up trying to block the hooks to WIG reasoning that they have a 45 point play and no good blocking play. They feel like they can simply outscore their opponent’s bingo. However, your Z is always going to score well next turn and it doesn’t hurt spending a play to block the potentially dangerous hook. JO blocks the hook nicely while giving yourself plenty of scoring options next turn.
